A Dream Come True

Last April, a few people in the community decided to hold a town meeting at Cambria Heights High School to see if they could organize efforts to make Patton a nicer place to live.  To their surprise, about 50 people showed up at that meeting.  The group continued to meet and make plans to improve the appearance of main street Patton and in May of 2002 they held their first community clean up day.  Over 50 people showed up to paint, weed, scrub, and/or sweep.  Others showed up with food and drink for all of the volunteers.  What an exciting day.

Since that first meeting, the group has become a nonprofit organization, naming themselves the Patton Pavers. They are planning a BIG 4th of July Celebration at the Patton Park for the entire community.  Since the 4th falls on a Friday, we are hoping that EVERYONE will make this one of the biggest community events that the town has ever seen.  Contact your friends and family who have moved away and have them make plans to join in on our first community celebration.
